Ben Daniels is a 17 year old student at Blue Valley South West high school in Overland Park, Kansas. He is raising money for the environment, our forests, and wildlife with his unique pen and ink detailed drawings of nature and wildlife with hidden words within the art.

Ever since Ben was 11 years old he has attended Coyote Trails School of Nature in Ashland, Oregon. For the last 3 years he was an intern donating his time at Coyote Trails School of Nature and living outside in a tent teaching nature programs and working with families at Earth Teach Park for 7 weeks each summer. Needless to say he has acquired an appreciation for the natural world. He wants to help people become more aware of the very real necessity to save the environment. He is especially interested in saving trees.

In 2007 he won 1st place in the contest for the front cover of the Free Fall magazine with the drawing of a tree. The first show he displayed his artwork publicly was October 2007 at The Little Green Festival in Lawrence, Kansas. Since then his artwork has been in The Finishing Touch show in Overland Park, Kansas, The Holiday Mart, in Stilwell Kansas, The Metropolitan Homes and Garden Show/ Green Zone, the Ward Parkway Art Show, and the Buttonwood Art Gallery in down town Kansas City.

In 2008 his artwork entitled “We are all connected” was chosen as a finalist in a national competition. His work was displayed in Washington DC and put in the 2009 Celebrate Wild Salmon Calendar.

He’s given speeches on the environment, helped pass environmental bills because of his work with Kansas House Representatives, been featured on the television program “My Teen Star”, been written about in the Kansas City Star and various other publications.
